The aim of this thematic issue is to give a broad picture of the status of immigrants in Iceland, with social well-being in focus. This is the first time that Statistics Iceland publishes such comprehensive statistics on immigrants, looking at the state of their finances, education, employment, housing, democracy, work-life balance, environmental quality and safety. Immigrants are a diverse group of people that migrate in order to study, work, be united with loved ones or in search of international protection.
