The CPI in May 2010 rose by 0.41% from the preceding month (rose by 0.29% less housing cost). Over the last 12 months the CPI rose by 7.5% (CPI less housing cost rose by 10.1%) while the change over the last 3 months is equivalent to an annual inflation of 5.0% (6.6% inflation less housing cost). In Iceland, the HICP rose by 0.33% in April and by 0.36% in the EEA. Over the 12 months to April the HICP in Iceland rose by 11.1% and by 2.0% in the EEA. The building cost index in May rose by 0.8% from the preceding month, and rose by 7.4% on May 2009.
