At the end of the year 2007 the total number of fishing vessels, registered at the Icelandic Maritime Administration, was 1,642. The number decreased by 50 vessels from the previous year. The number of decked vessels was 834 and their combined size was 91,656 GT. The number of decked vessels had decreased by 18 and their size by 5,210 GT. The number of trawlers was 64 at the end of 2007 and their total size amounted to 74,067 GT. The number of trawlers increased by 1 and their combined size decreased by 4,181 GT. The number of registered undecked vessels was 744 in 2007 or 3,556 GT. Undecked vessels decreased by 33 in number from 2006 and their total size decreased by 165 GT.
