Statistics Iceland now publishes a Statistical Series issue on agriculture for the first time. The issue discusses Statistics Iceland’s development of the agricultural statistics along with publishing results from the first Farm Structure Survey and information gathered in the sector. The 2010 Farm Structure Survey reports there are 2,592 agricultural holdings in the country. Utilized agricultural area, excluding common land, is 15% of the country’s total area and farmers use approximately 0.2 tractors per hectare of arable land.
