A total of 12,700 individuals were unemployed in September 2024 according to seasonally adjusted results from the Icelandic Labour Force Survey. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 5.2% in September, the employment rate was 79.2% and the activity rate was 83.5%. Seasonally adjusted unemployment doubled between months, the employment rate decreased by 2.3 percentage points and the participation rate remained almost unchanged. There is some change in the labour force for September from previous measurements, with measured unemployment at 4.6%, seasonal adjustment at5.2% and the trend showing unemployment at 3.4%.
