The number of passenger ships arriving in Reykjavík harbour in 2023 was said to have been 277 while the correct number is 262. Transport of cargo through harbours in Iceland was 7.3 million tonnes in 2023, 6% less than in 2022. The busiest ports were as before Reykjavík, Grundartangi, Reyðarfjörður and Straumsvík. Reykjaneshöfn was in fifth place, as import of jet fuel increased significantly. Moreover, 262 passenger ships arrived in Reykjavík harbour in 2023 which is a new record number.
